“Good Morning Candidates! Welcome to the trading session of your efforts and emotions being conducted by the British Council! You are now under getting ripped off conditions!” The Pakistan National Organisation for Values and Awareness condemns the consistent divulgence of Cambridge International Examinations question scripts before the official exam release. It is a great shame that an institution as prestigious as Cambridge, with all its might, consistently fails to protect something as mere as Exam Integrity. Each year, the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES) siphons approximately PKR 50 Billion from Pakistan’s staggeringly low foreign reserves by virtue of O/A Levels Examinations. Students sacrifice sleep and work tirelessly to perform well in these CIE exams, only to discover that their efforts have been undermined by negligence on the part of the exam body. In response to this circus, a UCLES spokesperson has reportedly declared that further information will only be released “if required.” Bogus. Vague. Immature. Irresponsible. Imprudent. “Candidates, you may now drop your pens as we have successfully bamboozled ~USD 150 from your parents’ hard earned money!” It is about time UCLES gets its act together before an international lawsuit is systematically launched against them.
