SuperValu TidyTowns 2026 Launch 🌟 We were extremely proud to officially launch the 2026 SuperValu TidyTowns competition yesterday in Carrick-on-Shannon alongside Minister Dara Calleary - home to the 2025 winners of Ireland’s Tidiest Town as well as Ireland's Tidiest Small Town 🌍 Carrick-on-Shannon is a brilliant example of what makes TidyTowns so special, a whole community coming together with real pride in their place. From strong local partnerships to the involvement of young people and members of the Ukrainian community, it reflects the best of Ireland's community spirit. Across Ireland, more than 30,000 volunteers contribute over 1 million hours each year. From planting over 107,000 trees to maintaining 340,000 sqm of flower beds, the impact is truly remarkable, and the efforts of the local committees continue to amaze us every year. A sincere thank you to John Gaffney, Chair of Carrick-on-Shannon TidyTowns, and the entire committee for welcoming us to your award-winning town. And thank you also to Padraig Glancy, Catherine Glancy and the SuperValu team in Carrick-on-Shannon for the role they play in supporting their local community. We’re proud to support this incredible initiative for over 36 years and look forward to another inspiring year ahead. Together with our independent retailers, we remain committed to strengthening local communities across the country. We encourage communities across Ireland to get involved in the 2026 SuperValu TidyTowns competition - learn more and enter here: https://lnkd.in/dRE63R-j Luke Hanlon CDir Rita Kirwan Maighread Cremin Yvonne O'Brien Kain O Shea Amy Murphy Julie Dorel Ciara O'Connor Tara O'Leary Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht julien behal
