"Don't go into vet work for the animals. Go into it to help people." That advice, from her father and fellow Murdoch University graduate, has shaped Milly Watts' entire career. Today she's a cattle vet near Albany at Bovitech, working with herds across the region and proving that rural veterinary care is never just about the animal in front of you. It's about the business, the livelihood and the family behind it. A consultation about pink eye becomes a half-hour conversation about drought and isolation, because farmers carrying a heavy load often find it easier to open up to their vet. Milly rings rather than texts. She remembers the names of clients' partners and children. And when animal welfare demands it, she knows when to make the hard call. That's care as strength: disciplined, demanding and essential to the rural communities that depend on it. She built the foundations through hands-on learning on our on-campus farm and now trains the next generation of vets. Read more of Milly's story: https://lnkd.in/g-_2SuGi
