İnsan davranışları üzerine düşündüğümde ilginç bir gerçekle sık sık karşılaşıyorum: İnsanlar “Yapacağım” dedikleri şeylerin çoğunu erteleyebiliyor, vazgeçebiliyor ya da unutabiliyor. Ama “Asla yapmam” dedikleri şeyler, şartlar değiştiğinde, ihtiyaçlar ortaya çıktığında veya hayat farklı bir yöne aktığında bir anda mümkün hale gelebiliyor. Belki de başarı; geleceği kesin cümlelerle tanımlamakta değil, değişime açık kalabilmekte yatıyor. Bu yüzden artık insanların ne yapacağını değil, neye dönüşebileceğini anlamaya çalışıyorum. Yet a surprising number of the things they once said they would never do eventually become reality when circumstances, opportunities, or priorities change. Perhaps success is not about making absolute predictions about the future, but about staying adaptable as the future unfolds. These days, I try not to focus on what people say they will become. I focus on what they are capable of becoming.
