You can't fix what you don't measure. On Earth Day 2026, the world's dashboard tells a fascinating story. China now generates ~4,000 TWh of electricity from renewables, more than the entire EU consumes. In the US, renewables crossed 1,000 TWh, with solar up 34% in a single year. A modern wind farm now pays back its 30-year carbon debt in under two years. And yet the most important number doesn't fit on any spreadsheet. According to BCG's 2025 climate survey, 82% of companies say  decarbonization now creates real economic value, with the top performers capturing over $220M in net benefits. Meanwhile, forests and oceans still absorb roughly half of the CO₂ we emit, doing the quiet, unpaid work of keeping us alive. The machine is turning. But the machine isn't the point.
