Transforming heritage into opportunity! The Chapar Terracotta Cluster in Dhubri, sanctioned under SFURTI (2018), is now a functional cluster empowering 432 artisans. With a state-of-the-art Common Facility Centre (CFC), modern machinery, and continuous training in design, product development & skills, artisans are transitioning from traditional practices to market-ready production. Supported by Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati, the cluster is strengthening Assam’s rich terracotta legacy using locally available Hiramati soil and producing diverse products from diyas to decorative artefacts. Driving livelihoods, preserving heritage, and building a self-reliant ecosystem. #SkillIndia #VocalForLocal #AatmanirbharBharat #Handicrafts #ArtisansOfIndia #Assam
