Our first keynote of the day goes to the anazing Dr Jana Jeschke (Institut Jules Bordet, ULB Brussels): "Nanopore-Resolved Epitranscriptomic Landscapes in Human Breast Cancer." This is long-read sequencing doing something short reads can't: reading RNA modifications directly, in native molecules, and mapping them across real human tumours. Jana's group has been at the forefront of turning epitranscriptomic changes into insights for how we understand and stratify breast cancer. #VALT2026 #LongReads #Epitranscriptomics #Nanopore
