🇮🇹 ITALIAN ROBOTICS STARTUP SECURES 70 MILLION EURO FUNDING Generative Bionics, an Italian humanoid robot startup, has successfully closed a 70 million euro funding round. The investment round was led by CDP Venture Capital SGR, the venture capital arm of Italy's state-owned development bank. Crypto exchange Tether participated in the funding, alongside AMD Ventures, the venture arm of chipmaker AMD. The Luxembourg-based industrial and logistics group Duferco and Eni Next, the venture arm of Italian energy group Eni, also joined the round. Founded in July 2024 by four former employees of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), Generative Bionics aims to produce "Made in Italy" intelligent humanoid robots. These robots are intended for applications in manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and retail sectors. Generative Bionics plans to unveil its first robot model at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from January 6-9 next year. CEO Daniele Pucci stated the company's mission is to create a future where intelligent humanoid robots work alongside people, enhancing human capabilities. The startup anticipates the humanoid robotics market could exceed 200 billion euros by 2035. Global investments in humanoid robot companies are projected to reach 2.3 billion dollars this year, nearly doubling last year's figures. This surge in investment is attracting significant venture capital into the robotics sector. Earlier this year, German startup NEURA Robotics raised 120 million euro, also with significant Italian investment. Tether was also reportedly in negotiations for a substantial funding round with Neura Robotics, with valuations discussed between 8 to 10 billion dollars. Source: Börsen-Zeitung
