It’s been 40 years since Bob Marley & the Wailers’ final Uprising Tour show at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh. Following his history-making performances at NYC’s Madison Square Garden & his calamitous collapse in Central Park, Bob Marley & crew headed to #Pittsburgh for what would be his final live performance. Bob sang & danced, preached & prayed for 90 minutes & three encores. Rich Engler, the Pittsburgh promoter, remarked the show that night was “magical.” He added that “Marley was in good spirits… & the place was shaking.” The audience was blissfully unaware of Bob’s illness or the historical importance of this particular show. The final song, which is as relevant & important today as it was 40 years ago, was “Get Up Stand Up.” Read our #ReggaeReport 1980 Interview with #BobMarley here >> https://lnkd.in/da8JYAM #reggaemusic #reggaeroots #ReggaeHistory #reggae
