You cannot drive an industrial transformation solely from behind a screen: the truth is always found on the ground. After traveling extensively this year to meet our teams and suppliers, I am more convinced than any paper can prove, being on the ground is the only way to truly understand our challenges, motivate our people, and recognize their relentless work. A huge thank you to the Trucks Technology & Industrial teams, and more specifically to our Powertrain Technology & Industrial teams and suppliers. Yes, the challenges are significant, but your deep commitment is outstanding. In the coming weeks, we will deliver major products, both in combustion engines and electric trucks, to support our brands. We are ready, on time, and immensely proud of this journey. This year has also brought powerful leadership lessons. Regarding empowerment over abandonment, creating autonomous teams doesn’t mean leaving them alone, it means setting a clear direction, defining the framework, and then letting them drive. When it comes to execution over strategy, designing a vision is rarely the hardest part, building the cross-functional plan to get there is. True ownership happens when clear goals are cascaded at every single level of the organization. Finally, for value chain over silos, the biggest trap is micro-optimizing a single department, so we must always design for the global picture and never be afraid to "degrade" your own local KPI if it serves the higher interest of the company. In a rapidly changing world, leadership is the ultimate differentiator. We don't just need to maintain; we need leaders who challenge the status quo, make bold decisions in uncertainty, and choose to be kind rather than just "nice", by finding the courage to put the difficult topics on the table. The rest of the year will bring many more challenges, but with the outstanding competence of our teams, I am fully confident.
