Breaking Barriers - from Cyber to AI! Since moving to SF, I’ve been thinking a lot on how to better connect Israel’s technical talent with what’s happening in AI in the Bay Area. Over the past 5 weeks, we took a step in that direction by launching AI5 - a hands-on introduction to modern AI that integrates research, technical foundations, and real applied projects. The goal was simple: breaking barriers - demonstrate that top cyber technical talent can translate their rigor, intuition, and systems thinking into the realm of AI. Last week, we concluded the program with a week in the Bay Area. We had the opportunity to meet with AI leaders such as Sam Altman, Daniel Levy, Igor Babuschkin, Misha Laskin. We also connected with AI builders like Ruben Mayer, Dan Biderman, Will Bryk, as well as AI buyers including David Tsao (CISO, Notion), Mike Hamilton (CIO, Cloudflare), Tamar Yehoshua (CPO/AI, Atlassian). Additionally, we hosted an insightful session on building security products with multi-step agents alongside Shrivu Shankar, VP of AI at Abnormal AI Words cannot fully capture the experience! A huge thank you to Jonathan Gordon for leading and mentoring the group with such depth and care, and to Lia Weiner-Tsur and Netz Capital for the partnership and shared conviction. Thanks to Maya Goren Bar, Ran Gat and Google Cloud for hosting the group and providing the resources that made this possible. And thanks to all the amazing people who dedicated their time to make this happen: Ido Dan, Gal Wachtel, Gilad Samuels, Peleg Kazaz, Itay Yona, Ido Ben Shaul, Or Weinstein, Dan Barzilay and others. Lastly, if you are Israeli and looking to build in AI—no matter how raw—I would love to connect! [email protected] Let’s Build! 🚀 Greylock Partners Asheem Chandna Saam Motamedi
