Somewhere on the continent tonight, a child is playing — goalposts of two sticks, a pitch of dust, no scout watching. All month she has watched the World Cup, and now, in the fading light, she is replaying it: she is Vozinha, diving; she is Salah, curling one toward the corner; she is Hakimi, flying down the wing toward a match not yet over. Our responsibility is not to ask her to dream bigger. It is to build an Africa that can hold her dream. I wrote about what this World Cup showed me — the heartbreaks, the pattern behind them, and the Africa we could build. Full essay below. And tomorrow: Dima Maghrib — ديما مغرب. 🇲🇦 For all ten: 🇿🇦 🇹🇳 🇨🇮 🇨🇩 🇸🇳 🇩🇿 🇨🇻 🇬🇭 🇪🇬 🇲🇦 🌍
