How do we drive the digitalization of our value chain from development to production? How do we integrate our Quality Domain Processes into the early stages of our value chain in our PLM Teamcenter landscape? How do we use product and process dates to realize holistic Quality Management? How do we avoid the expense of specific solutions and instead use standard tools "out of the box"? The answer is Teamcenter Quality. To achieve these goals, we are conducting a joint project with Digital Industries product- and project-oriented Business Units and Digital Industries Software to implement the Teamcenter Quality product family of our DI Software business unit in an early phase of product development. This way, we are testing it using typical use cases and, based on our experience, introducing our requirements into the product development. To implement the "Quality in the Loop" approach, we focus on - "FMEA" to reduce critical risks in the design and manufacturing phase - "Control & Inspection Plan" for central shop-floor quality planning - "Problem Solving" to manage defects over the entire lifecycle of a product In the current and the next fiscal year, the upcoming versions of Teamcenter Quality will be tested using the same methodology before being followed by a pilot deployment in DI business units. The Teamcenter Quality product family is currently worldwide tested, scheduled or already in the implementation phase by various companies from a wide range of industries. Customers are enthusiastic and convinced of the potential of a modern Quality Management solution fully integrated into the product development process. For example, Cebi, a global manufacturer of electromechanical components for the automotive and household appliance industries, has entered into a long-term partnership with Siemens to drive digital transformation throughout the entire development process – from the design phase to the shop floor. Many thanks to all participants in the project, whose efforts supported this win-win situation by developing a very innovative product for internal and external customers.
