Creating a safe, respectful and inclusive community asks more of us than a commitment. It requires sustained action. Gender-based violence and sexual harm remain ongoing challenges across our society, and universities are not separate from this reality. In Australia, approximately one in five women has experienced sexual violence since the age of 15. Our latest Gender-based Violence Prevention and Response Action Plan and Outcomes Framework 2026 – 2030 builds on over a decade of work and calls on every part of our community to take decisive action. It draws on evidence, expertise and lived experience to strengthen our prevention and response efforts. Aligned with the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence, the Action Plan and Outcomes Framework equips our community with the tools to prevent and respond to harm.
