Momentum whānau, we'd like to introduce you to our new Auckland Momentum Chair: Damita M.. Damita is the newest Investment Manager at UniServices, and works across the portfolio of digital technology, AI and engineering spaces. She has also had experience previously working at Matū. Of course, that also means a very fond farewell to Jessica Chiang, Auckland Chair for over three years, and committee member for 8 years.. and counting. In Jess's own words: "I've personally witnessed Damita's growth in the ecosystem and have no doubt this is well-deserved, and I’m excited to see the committee continue to evolve under her leadership. I'd also like to acknowledge the importance of this transition for Momentum.Part of what makes Momentum unique is that it is a student- and rangatahi-led investment committee; leadership and membership change are healthy and intentional parts of how we operate as some of us graduate and move into the next stage of our careers. These cycles are critical for maintaining momentum, building rangatahi capability, and ensuring continuity while creating space for new perspectives and leadership styles. So, naturally, as I successfully defended my PhD Viva a few days ago, my time has come :) I am committed to supporting a smooth transition and handover, but this is not a goodbye! I’ll remain involved as a committee member and will continue to support wherever appropriate. Thank you all for the mahi and care you bring to this committee! I look forward to seeing Momentum continue to thrive in its next chapter." Thank you Jess; and welcome Damita.
