The first day of The Poetics of Leadership program began on the wire, literally. Before walking the wire, Andrea Loreni, Italy's foremost funambulist, took the Creativity Pioneers through various unexpected exercises in preparation. Insight from encountering the wire today include: navigating life's high wires requires practicing groundedness and mindfulness first; sight is not the only way we can perceive the world; and crossing the tightrope is easier when we reach out for a stabilising hand. The tightrope is a unique physical experience that reminds us that the mental and the physical are not separate domains but are one. We cannot simply think or strategise our way across. We also have to intuitively feel our way step by step too.
