A lot of people have been asking me about my Amazon interview experience. So I thought I’d put everything together in one post. 🚀 I applied directly through the Amazon Careers portal without any referral and completed the Online Assessment (OA) on 10th February. 📅 16th March – Round 1 (DSA) The interview started with a brief introduction, followed by two coding problems. The first was a leetcode hard string problem, and the second was a real world playlist based problem where the playlist had to be updated efficiently as people joined and left a party. I was able to solve both problems optimally while explaining my approach and complexity. 📅 17th March – Round 2 (Coding – Logical & Maintainable) This was probably the most discussion heavy round and lasted around 1.5 hours. ⏳ I was asked to design the logic behind an A/B testing system. We started with a basic implementation for a single experiment variant and then gradually extended it to support any number of variants. Once the solution was working, the interviewer asked me to optimize it, and I improved my approach from O(N) to O(log N). 📅 24th March – Round 3 (Hiring Manager – GenAI Fluency) The Hiring Manager started by asking how I use Generative AI in my day to day work, how I leverage it to improve productivity, and what I have learned from it. After that, we moved to DSA. I solved the first coding problem quickly, so the interviewer gave me another one, which I was also able to solve optimally within the remaining time. 📅 3rd April – Round 4 (Bar Raiser) The interview started with a brief introduction and then moved into a deep dive on one of my recent projects. We discussed the problem statement , who the customers were , the overall goal , the impact , and my approach step by step. The interviewer asked several follow up questions to understand how I think and make technical decisions. Then he asked: A time when I learned something outside my job responsibilities , the challenges I faced, and how I applied those learnings. A time when I received critical feedback and how I responded to it. I ended the interview by asking two questions. 🎉 13th April – The Offer 🎉 If you need exact questions then feel free to DM me. I am happy to help. 😊 #Amazon #SDE #SoftwareEngineer #InterviewExperience #CodingInterview #DataStructures #Algorithms #GenAI #GenAIFluency #Career
