🇩🇪 German prosecutors have opened an investigation into comedian Uwe Steimle after he remarked, “Where is Stauffenberg when you really need him?” while referring to Chancellor Friedrich Merz during an AfD campaign event in Saxony-Anhalt. The Dessau-Roßlau public prosecutor’s office is investigating the comment under Section 126 of Germany’s Criminal Code, which covers “disturbing public order through the threat of criminal acts.” Steimle made the remark while criticising Merz’s policy on Ukraine.
