Space & Service Designer | Architecture, User Experience & Human-Centered Environments

𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 Zilvermeer Recreational Park On March 9th, we had the opportunity to pitch and present our initial ideas for the Zilvermeer recreational park project, mostly focused on the Ijsvogel building. During the concept development phase, we applied a range of methodologies to build a strong foundation. We mapped out clear user journeys, analysed the potential of the HORECA spaces, identified areas for improvement, explored future user groups, and investigated different interior strategies. These steps helped us shape ideas focused on enhancing service quality, especially during the off-season, when the park has untapped potential. What stood out most to me in this process was how 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 together offer a broader perspective. Instead of focusing only on physical form, we started to think in terms of systems, connections, and user experiences, ensuring that every interaction within the space contributes to a seamless and meaningful journey. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team made this experience even more valuable. Working alongside Abid Iqbal (UI/UX designer), Youssef Ibrahim(graphic designer), and Haroon Ijaz (AI specialist) challenged me to see design through different lenses. Their perspectives pushed me beyond architecture, helping me approach problems more holistically. This kind of collaboration leads to more mature, layered thinking where design becomes not just about spaces or services alone but about creating integrated and impactful experiences. Grateful for the guidance and feedback from Nansi Van Geetsom, Tom Verbist Verbiest, and Jo Van Hees. Space & Service Design / Thomas More
