Mobile devices aren’t a side conversation in ITAM - they’re the visibility gap. Yesterday at Wisdom Unplugged, Mobilise IT was proud to be a key sponsor and presenter, joining a room full of practitioners who live the realities of IT Asset Management every day. One of the strongest themes throughout the session was clear: ITAM can’t enable governance, cost control, or compliance if mobile devices sit outside the asset lifecycle. That message came through in the joint session from Jonathan Pike (J P) (The University of Melbourne) and Nathan Wittke (Mobilise IT) - unpacking how mobile asset management is foundational to trusted ITAM data, not an edge case. From the discussion: - Mobile ecosystems are fragmented - multiple carriers, UEM/EMM platforms, logistics providers, and support models - Without a trusted central view, organisations struggle to answer basic questions: who owns what, where, and in what state - ITAM becomes a compliance enabler only when asset data is accurate, connected, and auditable - especially for mobiles What stood out most wasn’t just the content - it was the conversation. The Mobilise IT team - George Deligiannoudis, Andrew Fox, Nathan Wittke, and Peter Verschaeren - gained invaluable insights from attendees working across the ITAM space. Hearing first-hand about the opportunities and challenges organisations are navigating, and sharing practical experience on how mobile lifecycle visibility can close real governance and cost gaps, made the day especially valuable. ITAM challenges don’t live in theory. They live in silos, manual handoffs, and data you can’t fully trust. Where do mobile devices still sit outside your ITAM lifecycle today - procurement, ownership, compliance, or recovery? #ITAM #MobileAssetManagement #WisdomUnplugged #MobiliseIT #ServiceNow #Governance #Compliance #SOCI #AssetVisibility
