Secretary, MNRE, chaired a strategic roundtable discussion on “Mobilizing International Capital for India’s 500 GW Renewable Energy”, today, at Gift City, Ahmedabad. The roundtable was organised jointly by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, and the International Financial Services Centres Authority (#IFSCA). The session brought together policymakers, multilateral institutions, financial leaders and industry stakeholders to deliberate on scaling global capital flows into India’s clean energy transition. Discussions focused on expanding credit guarantees, blended finance structures, access to low-cost and foreign capital, robust hedging mechanisms, and risk-mitigation frameworks to crowd in domestic and global institutional investors. The consultations sought to align financing pathways with India’s 500 GW non-fossil capacity target and long-term Net Zero ambitions, through a coordinated effort of all stakeholders to accelerate capital deployment at scale in the Renewable Energy sector. #renewableenergy #netzero #internationalcapital #MNRE
