“A lot of us are saying we have that investigation capability — but some of it’s theater.” That’s Jess Vachon, 3x global CISO, talking with Brian Contos about what happens when the evidence you need is scattered across cloud, SaaS, and AI and your tools can’t correlate any of it. Theater was survivable a few years ago, when attacks moved slowly enough to catch up. They don’t anymore. The job now is to take fragmented signals and stitch them back into one view with what actually happened, how it correlates across the org, and do it fast enough to act in near real time. That takes real telemetry, the forensics to back it, and log history that’s still there when you need it. As Jess put it, we have to be able to move as fast as the AI is moving.
