How do we ensure strategic investments in research and innovation – without compromising scientific freedom?   Yesterday, Christina Egelund took part in a panel debate at #ScienceCluster Day 2026, hosted by Novo Nordisk Foundation Science Cluster! During the panel discussion, the Minister delivered a clear message: Europe needs both mission-driven priorities and strong, curiosity-driven research. Strategic investments only succeed if they rest on independent scientific excellence.   - If we succeed in combining strategic focus with scientific freedom, Europe will not have to choose between ambition and creativity.
