Sandvik will soon form a joint venture (JV) with US coal producer Alpha Metallurgical Resources to establish local ground support manufacturing in the US, it announced today. The Swedish OEM will hold a 51% majority stake in the new entity, while Alpha will take the remaining 49%. The two have also entered a long-term exclusive supply agreement under which Alpha will be a primary customer of the operation. Third-party customers will also be served.
