Class of 2025 alum Annabel Schön is advancing snow modeling in the Arctic. Based in Helsinki at the Finnish Meteorological Institute - Ilmatieteen laitos, she's the youngest member of a 20-person team building a model that simulates how snow accumulates, melts, and shapes Arctic environments. Her path there was anything but linear, running through leopard-tracking conservation work in South Africa, an art-science exhibition in Taiwan, and a round of cold emails to roughly 30 scientists around the world, one of which led to the mentor who shaped her Minerva capstone.
