Happy Pride Day!🌈☀️ Today completes 52 years since the first march, in 1969. And, to celebrate this day, we would like to share with pride and science, Ben A. Barres' history. Ben A. Barres was the first openly transgender scientist in the National Academy of Sciences (a nonprofit, non-governmental organization from the United States). Ben was a neurobiologist at Stanford University and transitioned to male in 1997 when he was 43 years old. Ben died of cancer in 2017.
