Victory Day reminds us that freedom is never guaranteed. On 23 June, Estonia commemorates the victory in the Battle of Cēsis in 1919, a defining moment in our fight for independence and a testament to the courage and determination of those who defended our nation. More than 100 years later, the lesson remains the same: peace and security require commitment, preparedness, and strong defence capabilities. As we celebrate Victory Day, we honour those who fought for our freedom and recognise the importance of continuing to strengthen Estonia’s defence and resilience for future generations.
