An image hard to look at: a #THeMIS #UGV, destroyed after being hit by an FPV. Had this been a manned vehicle, the outcome wouldn’t be just material loss, it would almost certainly involve casualties. Lives forever changed or lost in an instant. Unmanned systems don’t make conflict “clean” or consequence-free. But they do change one critical variable: they remove people from the point of highest risk. Every destroyed UGV like this is a mission where no one had to be inside or near a vehicle exposed to that blast. With daily reports highlighting the growing use of UGVs in Ukraine, the question isn’t whether unmanned systems will play a role, it’s how effectively we use them to reduce risk while maintaining and even building capability. This wreck is a reminder of why that matters. #MilremRobotics
