Driving transition within Clean Fuels & Circular Plastics - Host of the Topsoe HowTalk™ ‘Circular Plastic Podcast’
Last week marked a fantastic moment for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production in Europe and I was very happy to be there to witness it. The ground was broken on SkyNRG and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines's DSL-01 project in Delfzijl - the Netherlands' first facility fully dedicated to SAF production. Set in an expansive industrial landscape, the plant truly feels like an oasis in a desert. And that is exactly what a dedicated, groundbreaking SAF project represents in the space right now - green, growth and a worthwhile destination. Once operational in 2028, DSL-01 will produce around 100 KTA of SAF annually from waste-based feedstocks, helping decarbonize aviation in Europe. It is also a great moment for Topsoe as technology supplier and long-term knowledge partner to SkyNRG - a role stretching back to 2019. Vision, persistence, and the right partners get projects across the line. Watching ambition reach FID and then move on to construction is exactly why this work matters. Congratulations to the entire SkyNRG and KLM team- Camiel Broecheler, Oskar Meijerink, Bart Rosendaal, Eva C. van Mastbergen, Bart Vermeulen (M.Sc.), Tom Berg #SAF #DSL01 #SkyNRG
