There are moments in theatre that remind us why live performance and coming together as an industry community matters so deeply. Last night I had the pleasure of watching my client, Krupa Pattani, onstage in Ladies Football Club up in Sheffield. At a time when many of us are looking for work that genuinely lifts audiences, this production delivered exactly that: warmth, joy, and a powerful celebration of women’s stories. The production, led by director Elizabeth Newman, brings together an exceptional all-female cast. Those who know Krupa will be familiar with the depth and intensity she brings to dramatic roles, so it was a particular delight to see her flex her comedy muscles with such confidence and timing. The evening also included a lovely reunion with Haiesha Mistry, who many will remember played Krupa’s on-screen sister Yaz in Hollyoaks. Seeing them reconnect was a reminder of the long creative relationships that form across our industry. It was also such a joy to see my colleagues out and about. The industry is so bleak at the moment but kudos to all the agents, casting directors and industry leaders who are still fighting the good fight and investing their own time and money to spend some quality time with the engine of our industry, the theatre makers. Have you seen work recently that reminded you why this industry matters so much?
