I am pleased to share that our latest article has been published in Separation and Purification Technology titled: "CO₂ capture pathways: pre-combustion, post-combustion, and oxy-fuel processes with insights into post-oxy-combustion separation systems: a comparative study". In this work, we provided a comprehensive study of the three major CO₂ capture pathways and place particular emphasis on post-oxy-fuel CO₂ purification, where coupled heat transfer, mass transfer, condensation, and gas-liquid separation govern the overall system performance. Some of the key topics covered include: a) Comparative assessment of pre-, post-, and oxy-fuel CO₂ capture technologies. b) Fundamental mechanisms of condensation in CO₂-H₂O systems with non-condensable gases. c) Advanced direct-contact condensation technologies, including spray/steam ejector condensers. d) Gas-liquid separation devices such as cyclone and T-junction separators. e) Emerging enhancement techniques including electrohydrodynamic (EHD) methods, pressure intensification, and low-temperature cooling strategies. f) Identification of current research gaps and future directions for high-efficiency CO₂ purification systems.
