AI is not just changing what we think about. It may also be changing how we think. A new piece highlights a growing concern from neuroscientists. When we outsource too much cognitive effort to AI such as writing, reasoning, or remembering, we may slowly weaken the mental processes that support long-term brain health. This is not because AI is harmful by default. It is because the brain adapts to what it no longer needs to do.
