This is home. Seen from nearly 250,000 miles away. 🌍 On April 2, 2026, NASA’s Artemis II mission captured this view of Earth through the window of the Orion spacecraft, shortly after leaving Earth orbit. This moment was made possible by advances far beyond what early space missions had: 🛰️ Orion’s onboard computers carry vastly more memory than Apollo‑era systems, enabling complex operations in deep space. 📡 Modern communications systems — including laser‑based technology being tested on Artemis II — allow far more data to be sent back to Earth than ever before. 📦 High‑capacity memory and storage make it possible to capture, preserve, and return images like this across enormous distances. Without modern memory and storage, this image never makes it home. Memory doesn’t just power devices. It powers the moments that make us stop — and appreciate the world we share. Happy Earth Day. #EarthDay
