2.5 million Michiganders get their health coverage through Medicaid. For nearly 700,000 of them, that coverage come from the Healthy Michigan Plan, which is open to adults under 65 with incomes up to about $21,600. A new U-M report shows the long-term benefits of that coverage for individuals - not just for their physical and mental health, but for their ability to work. It also shows what the program has meant for hospitals and clinics that all Michiganders rely upon.
