A couple of weeks ago, after presenting at a seminar in Zurich, someone came up to me and said: "I finally understand what the value add of a VAT add-on or tax engine actually is." That comment stuck with me, because it is a question I hear in almost every SAP and tax conversation: why would we invest in a dedicated solution when SAP already determines VAT?
