The New Zealand Hydrogen Council recently came to New Plymouth, and it was standing room only. Green hydrogen should be an integral part of our energy system. Not only can we produce it here, but co-location with renewable resources could improve grid efficiency with electrolysers able to flex and manage the intermittency of wind and solar. Developing an ecosystem and the infrastructure to support it is a key challenge, and a potential economic development opportunity for the regions.
