Presentation, communication, persuasion, influence

Presentation skills tip Don't end with 'Thank you!' 🛑 I know it's in your corporate deck - get rid of it anyway!!!! One of the most common mistakes presenters make is ending with "thank you." While it’s polite, it doesn’t leave a lasting impression and it enacts the law of reciprocity which implies the presenter now owes the audience something. Don't do this! Eeeeek! Instead, end with a strong closing statement that links to your opening and gives people a kinesthetic boost. Your closing should give people the 'feels', ensuring they remember what you said long after your presentation is over. p.s. if you really must say "thank you" - it goes at step 8b of my Persuasion Blueprint and the words don't include a 'thank' or a 'you'. Better option is, "This has been a great meeting", or "great to see you all today" - something polite, uplifting - just not thank you! 💡 Next time, skip the "thank you" and leave your audience with an uplift! p.p.s.
