Last week I jumped out of a plane at 4,000 meters strapped to an instructor I met 45 minutes earlier. At the open door, I knew it was safe. What got me out wasn't courage. It was trust in my instructor built in less than an hour through clear communication, visible competence, and the calm of someone who already did all the thinking. I've been sitting with this thought as I'm currently training to become a Coach, and it maps exactly what coaches do: they don’t push you out the door. They get you to the edge, aware, clear-headed, ready to jump on your own terms. The door might be already open. The coach’s job, and one of the skills I’m improving, is helping someone trust themselves enough to step through it. #coach #skydiving #freefall #coaching
