CEO Siemens Mobility

I may be slightly biased, since it's my home city, but there is no better way to get around Berlin than by train! πŸš† That's why I am especially proud to announce that, together with our consortium partners, Siemens Mobility will deliver 350 walk-through four-car trains for the Berlin S-Bahn, provide 30 years of maintenance, and operate the North–South and Stadtbahn sub-networks for 15 years. We are shaping the next chapter of urban mobility in the capital region with our partners. These new trains will set new standards for passenger comfort and accessibility. But this project is also about building a smarter, more reliable rail network for the millions of passengers who rely on the S-Bahn every day. Our Railigent X technology will play a key role by connecting trains, infrastructure, and operational data to enable predictive maintenance. This allows issues to be identified before they impact service, improves fleet availability, and ensures more efficient maintenance throughout the entire lifecycle. For me, this represents the future of rail: combining sustainable transportation with digital innovation to deliver better mobility for everyone. I am excited to see these trains become part of the everyday journeys of fellow Berliners for decades to come.
