Budget cuts at the federal institution for agricultural research Agroscope - cutting funding and reducing staff researching agriculture in the face of an escalating climate crisis, is short-sighted and dangerous. The structural deficit after budget cuts is 10 Mio, a microscopic fraction of the 87 billion CHF budget of the federal government. Together with cuts to the Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF, we are risking innovation, progress and prosperity in the long term in Switzerland and beyond.
