NYU Stern Professor | Longevity & Generations at Work | Researcher, Author & Consultant

Apparently when you are writing a book you are supposed to tell people about it and post about it on LinkedIn. So: I’m writing a book. (Is this where I say something like, “Here’s what feeding my cat taught me about book publishing?”) It’s about how we’re all living longer - and how longevity is changing how every generation learns, works, and lives. 11 years into teaching at NYU Stern, I’ve heard stories from people at every age and stage. Early-career MBAs trying to progress, but feeling like the traditional on-ramps are blocked. Mid-career executives attempting what feels like a last pivot, but unclear how to go about it. Late-career professionals quietly fighting to hold onto what they've built - or improvising what comes next, since there isn’t a roadmap for this chapter. On the surface, these seem like completely different frustrations. I don’t think they are. I think they’re what happens when the rules we built for shorter lives can’t keep up with the longer lives we’re actually living. I’ll be sharing here what I've heard, observed, and researched along the way that might help navigate what comes next. If that sounds interesting, follow along. If not, all good. I’ll still cheer for you whenever you feel “humbled and honored.”
