Independent Journalist analyzing law at the intersection of society and justice and how it affects our lives

Everyone says the Karmelo Anthony and Caysen Allison cases prove the justice system has two sets of rules. But is that what the evidence actually shows? At first glance, the cases appear remarkably similar: ⚖️ Two 17-year-olds tried as adults. ⚖️ Two fatal school stabbings. ⚖️ Two self-defense claims. ⚖️ Two Texas juries. Yet one teenager was convicted of Criminally Negligent Homicide and received a 10-year sentence. The other was convicted of Murder and sentenced to 35 years. Was it race? Different juries? Different judges? Or were there critical legal differences that most people have overlooked? I took some time and dug into the cases, comparing the trial records, testimony, jury instructions, police evidence, and legal rulings to answer that question. My conclusion may surprise you. Read the article and tell me what you think. Did the system reach the right result in both cases, or should they have been treated more alike? #LegalView #CriminalLaw #TrialAnalysis #TexasLaw #SelfDefense #TrueCrime #JuryTrial #KarmeloAnthony #CaysenAllison
