We are pleased to introduce Joanna Do, Honours candidate at the The University of Western Australia, working on a project in partnership with Fremantle Hospital Mental Health Service and supervised by Bonnie Furzer Kemi Wright Kai Schweizer and Conor Boyd Jo's research examines how maladaptive exercise behaviours present across different eating disorder patient demographics. Her study combines a systematic review with retrospective and prospective clinical data analysis from eating disorder services within the South Metropolitan Health Service. The work aims to identify whether demographic factors such as sex, gender, and ethnicity are associated with different presentations of maladaptive exercise, with the goal of informing more individualised and culturally responsive clinical care. This Friday, Jo will be presenting her research at the UWA School of Human Sciences Postgraduate Student Expo. It is her first ever conference poster presentation, and a well-deserved milestone. We are looking forward to seeing her work continue to grow and welcome to the team! š Learn more about the MHEX research group: thrivinginmotion.org/mhex #MHEX #EatingDisorders #MaladaptiveExercise #HonoursResearch #MentalHealth #ExercisePhysiology #UWA #FremanleHospital #AustralianResearch
