The Amazon forest speaks in genes. And we’re listening. We are proud to collaborate with Universidade Federal do Pará and CISAM on a pioneering project that uses genomics to protect the biodiversity of the Amazon. The initial focus of the research is the pirarucu (Arapaima gigas), the largest freshwater fish in Amazon. In this research, the DNBSEQ-T7 was used to perform the whole-genome sequencing of the pirarucu specimens. As #Belém prepares to host #COP30, this project shines a light on why Amazon science matters — not just for Brazil, but for the planet. 🎥 Watch the documentary here: https://lnkd.in/gBYUbBUH 🌿Full story here: https://lnkd.in/grrHrssn Huge thanks to Professor Sidney Santos, Pablo Pinto, Ândrea Ribeiro dos Santos,Luciano Montag (Miúdo) from UFPA, as well as Carlos Carpio Hoyos, Victor Camillo, Carolina Aoki from MGI Brazil team.
