New publication in Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging. We’re pleased to share that a new study from the MGH Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center was published today, reporting sex-based differences in coronary plaque-associated risk among outpatients with stable chest pain. Key finding: Risk of MACE in women emerged at lower coronary plaque burden levels compared to men. Clinical implications: Even early or moderate plaque findings deserve careful attention and appropriate prevention strategies, particularly in women. Congratulations to Jan M. Brendel, MD and Borek Foldyna MD PhD FSCCT for leading this study. Grateful to our multidisciplinary team and collaborators who made this possible.
