Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the most science-y of them all? 🔬 Well, this may look like just a small mirror, but it does way more than just show the reflection of two cool scientists. In this photo, researcher Francesca Marturano, PhD, and her colleague are holding a custom-made glass stencil (called a photomask) that helps them “print” tiny patterns onto silicon wafers. Those patterns will be used by the researchers in the lab of Giorgio Bonmassar, PhD, to create ultra-thin wires designed for safer, MRI-compatible deep brain stimulation in the future. A reflection of today’s work, and a glimpse into the future of brain health. The Bonmassar lab is located at The Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Mass General Brigham.
