اتصال هاتفى بين وزير الخارجية والمبعوث الأمريكى الخاص لكل من سوريا والعراق جرى اتصال هاتفي بين د. بدر عبد العاطي، وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي والمصريين بالخارج، والسفير "توم باراك"، مبعوث الرئيس الأمريكي الخاص لكل من سوريا والعراق، تناول تطورات الأوضاع في المنطقة، ولاسيما في كل من سوريا والعراق الشقيقين. أكد وزير الخارجية أهمية الحفاظ على وحدة وسلامة الاراضى السورية، وجدد ادانة مصر للعملية الإرهابية الأخيرة التي شهدتها العاصمة دمشق، مشددا على ضرورة تمكين مؤسسات الدولة الوطنية السورية، ورفض أي تدخلات خارجية في شئونها الداخلية، مؤكدا أهمية تضافر الجهود لمكافحة الإرهاب والتطرف بكافة صوره وأشكاله. وفيما يتعلق بالعراق الشقيق، تناول الاتصال جهود الحكومة العراقية الجديدة في فرض سلطة الدولة وحصر السلاح، وعدم استخدامه خارج إطار مؤسسات الدولة. وأكد الوزير عبد العاطي موقف مصر الثابت الداعم لوحدة العراق وسيادته وسلامة أراضيه، منوهاً بدعم مصر لمؤسسات الدولة العراقية في مواجهة مختلف التحديات. Phone call between the Foreign Minister and the U.S. Special Envoy for Syria and Iraq A phone call was held between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, and Ambassador Tom Barrack, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Syria and Iraq. The call discussed developments in the region, particularly in Syria and Iraq. The Foreign Minister underscored the importance of preserving the unity and territorial integrity of Syria. He also reiterated Egypt's condemnation of the recent terrorist operation perpetrated in Damascus. In this context, the Minister reaffirmed the necessity of empowering Syrian national institutions and rejecting any foreign interference in its internal affairs. He also highlighted the importance of concerted efforts in order to counter terrorism and extremism of all forms. Regarding Iraq, the call reviewed the new Iraqi government’s efforts aimed at enforcing state authority, establishing state monopoly on weapons, and preventing their use outside the scope of state institutions. Minister Abdelatty further emphasized Egypt's unwavering stance in support for Iraq's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and asserted Egypt's support for Iraqi state institutions in confronting various challenges.
