Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2026: 50 Years of Deadly πŸ”΄πŸŸ‘βš« This week (5–12 July), Australia marks NAIDOC Week under the theme β€œ50 Years of Deadly” β€” five decades honouring the Elders, organisers, artists and communities who have carried this movement forward, and looking ahead to the next fifty years of culture, language and Country. At Metro Mining, we’re proud to operate the Bauxite Hills Mine on the lands of the Ankamuthi People in Cape York. Our partnership isn’t a footnote to our operations β€” it’s central to how we work. From cultural heritage protection to local employment and training pathways, the knowledge, leadership and contributions of First Nations people continue to shape how we do business responsibly on Country. This NAIDOC Week, we take a moment to acknowledge the Ankamuthi People as Traditional Owners of the land on which Bauxite Hills operates, and to thank all our First Nations team members and community partners for the strength and perspective they bring every day. 50 Years of Deadly. Culture leads, community comes together. πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ #NAIDOC2026 #50YearsOfDeadly #MetroMining #BauxiteHills #CapeYork #FirstNations Jaeme Davey Mark Imber Simon Wensley Troy McMillan Holly Freeman
