Metro operates the Bauxite Hills Mine (BHM) on the Skardon River in Far North Queensland — one of the most remote and ecologically sensitive regions in Australia. From there, our bauxite travels through a supply chain that ultimately feeds the aluminium that powers solar panels, electric vehicles, and the lightweight infrastructure of a cleaner economy. That’s the circular economy in action — and bauxite is at its foundation. But what Metro is proud of is what we leave behind in the communities we work alongside — not just what we ship out. Far North Queensland’s Cape York communities have historically been among the most underserved in Australia. Metro Mining’s presence there is not incidental to our business — it’s central to how we define our licence to operate. We employ local people, invest in local capacity, and build relationships that outlast any single shipment or season. Mine to market means something specific to us: it means tracing the value of every tonne of bauxite not just to the end buyer, but back to the community whose land and trust made it possible. Intergenerational benefit isn’t a line in a sustainability report. It’s a job a young person in a remote community holds today that builds a skill they’ll carry for life. It’s a relationship between a mining company and a community that grows stronger with each passing year, not weaker. Australia has a role to play in the global clean energy transition. At Metro, we intend to play ours — responsibly, and with the people of the Cape beside us. #BauxiteHills | #MetroMining | #CircularEconomy | #CapeYork | #ResponsibleMining | #MineToMarket | #CommunityFirst | #AustralianMining #AustralianAustralianAustralianAustralian Aluminium Council Simon Wensley Mining.com.au Doug Ritchie Jennifer Purdie Paul Lucas Troy McMillan Listen to Mining.com.au podcast on this topic. https://lnkd.in/g5y3Q56r https://lnkd.in/gYhNPvKd
