One Metro – One Finance!    We kicked off the NextGenFinance program 2026 last week in Düsseldorf. 29 finance talents from 13 METRO/MAKRO countries, DISH Digital Solutions, METRO Markets GmbH, Pro a Pro Spain, PRO à PRO, METRO Food Sourcing - Valencia Trading Office, METRO Global Solution Center PL, METRO Global Solution Center IN and METRO AG started their learning journey together.    After diving deeper into own leadership, the participants had an inspiring exchange with our CFO at METRO AG, Eric Riegger. His context around the key Finance initiatives was a perfect example how someone can contribute to real business starting from an early career. This was further strengthened and reconfirmed by different senior leaders who provided global perspective and insights on key Finance functions and initiatives. Special thanks to Thomas Ried, Amal Kaanane, Michael Bouscheljong, Florian Kaulmann, Vladyslav Ostapiuk, Merve Güvenek Dag, Cemre Hallaç.   The group had a guided tour in Düsseldorf store by Michael Widmer on the successes of wholesale transformation, which further emphasized the importance of understanding of our core business for a successful career in Finance and beyond.
